EDUC CONGRESS 2019: FACING TODAY’S EDUCATION THROUGH ICT AND MLE


Education students all over T3 Campuses (Gen. Trias, Trece Martires, and TanzaCampus) of Cavite State University (CvSU) emerged together to celebrate Educ Congress 2019, held in Lumina Homes, Bagtas, Tanza, Cavite and CvSU-Tanza Campus, last Oct. 22-23.



With the theme “Engaging ICT Development and Understanding Multi-Cultural Education”, future educators were shaped to connect the real-world education and its culture to the advancing technologies for a better way of teaching. 

Educ Congress was focused on providing educational seminars for future educators. In accordance with that, two associated topics were presented by two honorary speakers Dr. Noel B. Manarpiis and Prof. Charmaine T. Banag.

CvSU Gen. Trias Campus’ Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English students though outnumbered by two different campuses had competitively filled in all the spots in the activities’ registration and dare to compete in the five educational activities which are the General and Professional Education Quiz Bee, Instructional Materials Development Making, Lesson Planning, Test and TOS Construction, and Demonstration Teaching. They were being mentored by their professor, Dr. Noel Manarpiis.

Before day 1 ends, General and Professional Education Quiz Bee was held. Wherein 36 students from T3 campuses competed and six from it were from GenTri Campus named Ian Jasper Pantaleon, Christian Medequillo, Ivan Rodrich Tabujara II, Margott Macie Mendoza, Marilgol Tabujara, and Bernard Castillo.




With the total scores, in the end, Bernard Castillo places the flag of the Generals winning the overall champion 3rd Place while the 2nd and 1st place goes to Tanza Campus named Mae Ann Padasas and Joriel Perucho. And as for the overall winners in Gen. Trias Campus: 1st - Bernard Castillo, 2nd - Ivan Rodrich Tabujara II, 3rd - Christian P. Medequillo. They will be the representative of the General Trias Campus in the upcoming PAFTE 2020.




The next activities conducted on the second day of the Educ Congress, 2019 was held at CvSU Tanza campus. These activities happened all at once in different classrooms.

For the Test and TOS Construction, CvSU Gen. Trias Campus once again waved its flag as Ivan Rodrich Tabujara II was recognized and honored as the overall champion defeating all those seven contestants.


In Instructional Materials Development, each group must present a pair of students. This activity was joined by five pairs; 3pairs for Tanza Campus, and 1 pair for both Trece Martires and Gen. Trias Campus. For GenTri, the contestants were Margott Macie Mendoza and Joy Marie Añonuevo.



Educ. Congress 2019 hosted by CvSU Tanza Campus was to serve and let the future educators experience the essence of being a teacher, the responsibilities that come with it and also the feeling that in every hard work we do as a teacher, there’s success at the end.

Teacher Education Department was formerly led by Ms. Aleli B. Diato  Since she was on Educational leave for her Ph.D. degree, the said position was appointed to Dr. Noel B. Manarpiis. Dr. Noel B. Manarpiis is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in English with 28 units of Professional education. And took up his master's degree at Cavite State University main Campus - Master of Arts in Education major in Secondary Education minor in Elementary Education and then took up his doctorate degree at Philippine Normal University-Manila with the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Linguistics with a specialization in Applied Linguistics.  Before he became a new TED dept. chair, he was assigned at Cavite State University- Silang Campus for 10 years,  Cavite State University - Cavite City Campus for 6 years, and  Cavite State University - Tanza Campus for 3 years.
